Product description

The word "Excelsior" has its origins in Latin and means "higher" or "better". This is probably due to the fact that this Spanish wood hyacinth grows considerably taller than other cultivars, thus living up to its name. The Dutch term "excellent" also finds its origin here, and frankly, this wood hyacinth undoubtedly deserves that nickname.

This robust bulbous plant is characterised by attractive bunches of glossy leaves, from which upright stems rise with cheerfully dangling flowers. Each stem bears as many as 15 to 20 bell-shaped flowers, which are a beautiful purple-blue colour with a navy-blue centre vein.
