Winter Green Cut Lettuce

This variety of lettuce features tender, light green leaves and is highly frost-resistant. Ideal for cultivation under cover during the winter months, it also grows well from February to April.

Sowing:
Sow from August to October under cover. You can sow in a nursery or directly in the field. Sow in rows or scattered. If sowing in a nursery, transplant the young plants after about 4 weeks when they have 4-5 leaves, spacing them 30 cm apart. For field sowing, thin to 10 cm apart and later to 30 cm.

Lettuce requires good sunlight, well-composted soil, and regular watering, especially during dry periods.

Maintenance and Disease:
Keep the soil moist by mulching and water regularly during dry spells.

Harvesting:
Winter lettuce can be harvested in February-March, a few months after sowing. Cut the leaves when they reach about 15 cm and leave the heart intact to encourage regrowth for further harvests.

Tips:
Easy to grow, but be mindful of slugs.
