Champagne Turnip – Traditional and Flavorful Turnip

The Champagne Turnip is an old, semi-early variety with a unique shape. The root is top-shaped, slightly flattened, and has a white skin, while the part above ground may develop a green tint. The white flesh is tender, slightly sweet, and of excellent quality. When harvested young, this turnip is particularly juicy and flavorful, but it can also be used as fodder. When fully ripe, the turnip reaches a diameter of approximately 12 cm.

Growing and Cultivation Tips

• Early planting: Sow from March to May or in August, spacing rows 20-25 cm apart. Thin seedlings to 10 cm. Harvest about 2 months later.
• Autumn and winter planting: Sow between June and mid-August for harvest from September to November.
• Storage: Store in a cellar or storage space after removing the leaves.
