Product description

The annual safflower is an old cultivated plant that was originally grown for oil and colour production. Safflower oil is extracted from the seeds. The plant has a thistle-like appearance with slightly spiky leaves and flowers that change colour from yellow to orange to red. Today, safflower is particularly popular as a cut and dried flower. The seeds are also favoured by birds and mice.

Sow the seeds in April or May directly where you want the plant to grow, as safflower does not transplant well.
