This very early pumpkin variety produces spherical fruits that are initially green with fine pastel green spots, gradually turning yellow upon ripeness. The pumpkin has tender, melting flesh with a delicate flavor when young, becoming slightly fibrous at full ripeness. Harvest when they are half-grown. They are versatile and can be used like zucchinis when young and are excellent for stuffing, gratins, or ratatouille. Due to their soft texture, they are easy to cut.

Cultivation Advice for This Pumpkin Variety

To accelerate fruit setting and prevent slug damage, it's best to sow pumpkin seeds warm (20°C) in pots from March-April. After the last frost (around May 15), transplant the seedlings into the ground, spacing them 1 meter apart. For creeping varieties, space them up to 2 meters apart in small holes filled with compost.

Pumpkins require not only ample sunlight but also soil rich in organic material. Ensure regular and abundant watering, especially during dry periods. If sowing directly into the ground, the harvest will be later, and yields may be lower. For longer shelf life, it's advisable to harvest pumpkins when the skin is hard to puncture with a nail, and the stem is hardened. Then, cut them as close to the stem as possible.

Pumpkin seeds need a warm environment (20-22°C) to germinate quickly, usually within 5 days. Be cautious not to overwater, as excess moisture can lead to seedling rot.
