Passiflora caerulea ‘Constance Elliot’, also known as passionflower, is a deciduous climbing plant, with a narrow upright shape and broad, hand-shaped, glossy, dark green leaves. This passion flower blooms from June to October, with large, fragrant, star-shaped, white flowers, with pale blue filaments in the centre. Later, in autumn, followed by egg-shaped, orange-yellow fruits. Passiflora caerulea ‘Constance Elliot’ likes a sheltered position in full sun or semi-shade, preferably south or west facing. This plant prefers slightly moist, well-drained soil, is ph flexible, reasonably hardy, sea wind and air pollution tolerant, attracts bees and butterflies and produces edible, but not so tasty, orange-yellow fruits.
