Lychnis coronaria, also known as "God's carnation," is a hardy perennial from the carnation family. Native to Southern Europe, it is prized for its silvery-grey foliage and vibrant red flowers. The plant forms an upright clump, typically growing 60 to 80 cm in height, with thick, hairy leaves arranged in rosettes. The carmine-red flowers bloom from June to August, adding a striking color to borders, slopes, and flower beds. Lychnis coronaria is known for self-seeding, ensuring its presence year after year. It tolerates various exposures, from full sun to partial shade, and thrives in well-drained soil. Minimal maintenance is needed, though cutting back spent flower stems in October-November is recommended to encourage a fresh bloom and control its spread. It is also popular for use in flower arrangements.

Growing Advice:
Sow directly in place in April-May or September, thinning to 30 cm. Blooms from June to September. Prefers full sun and well-drained soil. Height: 80 cm.
