Osmanthus burkwoodii or mock holly in multi-stemmed tree ! An evergreen eye-catcher in your garden.

Osmanthus x burkwoodii, better known as the mock holly, is a beautiful evergreen shrub with a compact, bushy and round shape. It is a unique hybrid of Osmanthus delavayi and Osmanthus Decorus. The leaves are dark green, glossy, leathery and finely toothed with an elliptical or ovoid shape. From April to May, this mock holly blooms with rich amounts of small, sweet-smelling white flowers growing in clusters.

This plant prefers a spot in full sun or semi-shade, does well in almost any soil that is not too wet and requires little maintenance. It is a slow grower, exceptionally hardy and sometimes produces small blue-black fruits in autumn.

Osmanthus x burkwoodii is an excellent plant for bees and coastal areas, resistant to disease and tolerant of air pollution.
