Geranium phaeum - Organic perennial

Geranium phaeum is a deciduous garden creeper with a bushy, clump forming habit. The leaves of this shrub are medium green, brown-black mottled and deeply lobed. This geranium flowers abundantly from May to August with small, single dark purple flowers with a white centre. The plant prefers a position in full sun or light shade, but will also do well in the semi-shade and is happy with any well-drained soil that is not too fertile. To prevent over-sowing and encourage repeat flowering, it is advisable to cut the geranium back firmly after flowering. Stork Bean is hardy, tolerant to sea winds and air pollution. Geraniums are also good bee and butterfly plants.
