Fennel grows best on waning days and is well-suited for cultivation as the days shorten.

Cultivation Tips for Fennel:

• Sowing Time: Sow fennel from March to April under glass for an early harvest. Alternatively, sow in July in a nursery and transplant the seedlings into the ground for a fall harvest, harvesting in October.
• Spacing: Space fennel plants 25 x 40 cm apart. If sowing under glass, these distances are also ideal.
• Location: Fennel requires plenty of air and light, so a sunny and sheltered spot is best for cultivation.
• Soil: Fennel thrives in a light yet rich, well-drained soil.
• Watering Needs: Fennel needs a lot of water, so water regularly and abundantly to support healthy growth.
• Harvest: Fennel is ready for harvest after approximately two and a half months. Be sure to harvest before the plant starts bolting, as this can affect growth and harvest quality.
