Batavia Lettuce Iceberg "Saladin"

Sowing
Sow from February to March under glass, and from the last frost until June directly in the ground.

Sow in a nursery or directly in the field. When sowing in a nursery, transplant the seedlings after about 4 weeks, at a distance of 30 cm, when they have 4-5 leaves. When sowing directly in the field, thin out to 10 cm and then to 30 cm.

Lettuce needs ample sunlight, well-balanced compost, fresh soil, and regular watering during dry periods.

Sow from February to June every 3 weeks to ensure a continuous harvest throughout the season.

Maintenance and Diseases
Keep the soil moist (by mulching) and water regularly during dry periods.

Harvesting
Batavia lettuce can be harvested 8 to 10 weeks after sowing when the head is well-formed. Cut the root level with the ground.

The lettuce can be stored in the fridge for a few days.

This lettuce is easy to grow.

Batavia lettuce is heat-tolerant and has good resistance to bolting.

Be vigilant and protect the lettuce from slugs.
